Pilates

Pilates (PEE-LA_TEEZ) in a word is exercise. More accurately it is a body conditioning exercise program that focuses on developing a strong core to help with injury prevention, rehabilitation, and fitness. Pilates is suitable for all ages and abilities.

At Inform Physiotherapy and Pilates we offer individual and group Pilates and Mat Pilates in our fully equipped studio. Sessions are 45-60 minutes and are available as either individual (1:1), duo (2:1) or group (up to 4:1) formats.

Our Pilates is taught by highly qualified instructors  and Physiotherapists with Pilates certification. If you have Private Health Insurance with Physiotherapy extras claims can be made on all Pilates sessions.

In order to understand your needs and design an effective individual exercise program all new Pilates clients are required to attend an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist. This appointment will include a thorough assessment of current posture and movement patterns, as well as any previous or recurring injuries. If required real time ultrasound can be used to educate and teach correct core muscle activation. Students new to Pilates will require a further 1:1 session to allow us to teach you the fundamental Pilates principals in depth. Experienced Pilates students are required to attend the initial assessment then progress directly to their chosen class format.
